Poem: Original

Neil Thomas, unsplash.com

Illusions were far memories of hope

intersections vain enough to attract weight

we crossed the right moment into never

burning a beautiful night perfectly wasted

only the prayers remained astonished

sacred vibrations heavy electric fluid sonic

Have I earned the right

to suffer eternal concern

mummified wood

marbled arches of ruin?

Dreams clothe me in haste

well in advance

break bite the arrangements

provided saddled suffocated.

Public smile a lipsticked mask of mirth.

I should have recognized at what cost

failures take me too seriously.

If you can morally overcome

admiration identity

you get to keep your sacred

originality sovereign.
