Poem: Regrets (haiku in 5 variations)

1)

Trying not to hate

my stressful job but it’s hard.

It makes my soul sink.

2)

I tell my young son

Don’t compromise your true dreams

I support your hopes.

3)

I wish my parents

didn’t discourage my art

I shut down my heart.

4)

Life’s too uncertain

to live it miserably

We get just one chance.

5)

Parents, don’t shatter

the sweet hopes of your children.

Your kids will thank you.
