Poem: Paganism never died

Paganism never died

no matter how hard they tried

pillaging and killing

raping and enslaving

the sex obsessed orgy loving

believers in magic

lovers of ritual,

sacrifice and even bestiality!?

Paganism never died

it was just re-disguised

re-packaged and re-commercialized

for mass consumer consumption.

Halloween, Easter and Christmas

are all rebranded for Christians.

Christianity replaced

gods and goddesses

with various saints and martyrs

each with their own special power

superheroes mythology.

Dress the kids up

in vampire blood teeth

zombie mutations

and serial killer masks.

I wonder why we celebrate

what we’re afraid of?

Life is a roller coaster ride

that we’re all hoping to survive?
